A first-year student in Class 1-E at National Magic University Affiliated First High School, also known as First High School. He is a direct descendant of the illustrious Yotsuba family, known for its long line of distinguished magicians, but is enrolled in the Course 2 curriculum (for irregular students) due to his inferior magic abilities. He barely passes his practical skills exams but is always number one in written exams, and excels in the field of technology, which includes designing CADs on his own. He is also a soldier assigned to the 101 Independent Magic-Equipped Battalion and specializes in powerful magic that involves deconstruction and regeneration.

Tatsuya's younger sister and first-year student in Class 1-A at First High. She is next in line to be the head of the Yotsuba family, and unlike her brother, she is extremely talented as a magician. She is a world-class specialist in the use of Freezing Magic and is known for her exceptional beauty as well as top-ranking grades at school but suffers from a severe brother complex.

Tatsuya’s classmate. She is the daughter of the Chiba Family, an esteemed clan known for kenjutsu, which combines sword techniques with magic. She has mastered the Chiba (thousand blades) style of kenjutsu and excels in close combat. Like Miyuki, she has a serious case of brother complex towards her older brother Naotsugu, and detests his girlfriend, Mari.

Tatsuya’s classmate. He inherited his physical strength and Fortifying Magic from his grandfather, who was a genetically modified magician from Germany. His combat skills are not on par with Erika or Tatsuya, but he uses Fortifying Magic to defend himself and dominates his opponents with his physical prowess.

Tatsuya’s classmate. She is a bit ditzy and has an easygoing personality. She wears glasses to control her hypersensitivity to Spirit Particle Emissions. She and her parents are civilians, and she has almost no combat skills, but possesses a unique gift which enables her to see spiritual phenomena.

Tatsuya’s classmate. He is the second son from the Yoshida family, a clan that is esteemed for its mastery of Ancient Magic, which differs in technique and theory from Modern Magic. He was unable to perform spells for a while due to an accident but has regained the same level of magical powers as when he used to be called a prodigy. He specializes in the use of Ancient Magic, and even Tatsuya and Miyuki see him as a force to be reckoned with. He is a versatile magician who excels not only in the use of magic for combat but in detection, disguise, and concealment.

Miyuki’s classmate. She is an honors student with grades only second to Miyuki and specializes in Light-Wave Oscillation Magic which enables her to control light and illusions. She is very close to Shizuku, and Shizuku’s parents treat her like family. For the most part she has a gentle personality but can sometimes jump to conclusions and can be audacious in certain situations. She has romantic feelings for Tatsuya.

Miyuki’s classmate. The eldest daughter from the wealthy Kitayama family. Her mother is an A-rank magician. She ranks second behind Miyuki in practical skills but has some difficulty with magic theory. She specializes in High-Output Oscillation Magic. She tends to be quiet and reserved, but when she does talk, she has no problem saying what’s on her mind. She has been friends with Honoka since elementary school.

A senior and the former student council president. She is the eldest daughter from the Saegusa Family and specializes in the use of Long-Range Precision Magic. She is one of the top magicians at First High, and along with Mari Watanabe and Katsuto Jumonji, they are known as the Big Three. Even after stepping down from the position of student council president, she is still very influential as a member of the Ten Master Clans.

A senior and the former chairwoman of the Disciplinary Committee. She’s an expert in Combat Magic and excels in both group and individual battles. She has mastered the secret sword skill, Dojigiri, which has been passed down for generations in the Watanabe family. She is also undergoing kenjutsu training with the Chiba family and has already reached a high level of mastery. She met Erika’s brother, Naotsugu, during her training and is dating him.

A senior and the former head of the Extracurricular Activities Federation. He has participated in the Ten Master Clans meeting as the heir apparent to the Jumonji family. He has an air of dignity and composure that is unlike any other high school student. He has excellent magic skills, and is a master of Phalanx , a Multiple Move-Type Defense Magic, which he uses both for offensive and defensive tactics to crush his enemies.
